I went to an internist last week.
I found out that my thyroid was really low---
hypothyroidism she called it.
I am now taking 1 gram daily of thyroid med.
This may have been the culprit--
so have your thyroid blood test checked
for T4 and TSH referral to T4. I
am now drinking a lot of decaf green tea.
I expect to send a praise report soon!
Love, Susan.

momma kath, i just sent this up-date because there
were so many important facts on this site a wonderful
woman on the TTC site posted for me re: my
thyroid levels being normal but having anti-thyroid
anti-bodies present. she gave me access to the most
eye-opening site i have ever seen re: this problem.
i am going to scedule my 9 year old daughter for a
thyroid test as well as the anti-bodies test this
imbalance runs in most of the females in my family.
it causes so many infertility
problems,reproductive and mental disturbances that
it should have a place on your wonderful site. Love,
Jane

re: anti-thyroid anti bodies.
O.M.G. this wonderful woman sent me the best info.
and i am sending it to all the woman i know that are
dealing with infertility. These drs. will run you
around in circle letting you think one thing when
the major thing that could be malfunctioning
everything is your... thyroid even if it is in their
"so-called normal range you still have to have an
anti-thyroid test to make sure not many drs. will do
it. the thyroid can cause your entire reproductive
system to go crazy by not "O".ing, having no periods
are very heavy ones, depression and a ton of other
stuff. but what struck me is it doubles the
miscarrige rate if a woman has it as well as
infertility and you would never know it and your dr.
might not tell you. no amount of clomid, iui, ivf
are going to help you if your thyroid is not
functioning 100% i could not believe it. i am
posting this site on the b.b. because it is so impo.
for woman to know this stuff even if they don`t
think thyroid is the problem because throid
hormones are a lot cheaper that iui, infertility
drugs and ivf and all the others... agree!!!????

I am 36, trying to conceive for 8 months
with a hypothyroid that won't Stay regulated.
(Hashimoto Disease).
I've been so confused,
since some months "O" kits show ovulation coming
but in the end BBT doesn't show that it happened.
And when I do ovulate it is very late in my cycle.
thank you for a very informative site.
Gina
