Trudy- 12cycles TTC #2 for 12 cycles. Went to first RE appt middle of cycle 11 and had DHs SA done and some other tests done. All were in the normal range but because of my history of endometriosis and taking 2 1/2 years to conceive our daughter he suggested IUI the next cycle. So, cycle 12 we started IUI. The whole process for us cost us about $1233.00. This included everything from appts to the actual procedure. We were lucky that the first try we got pregnant. CD 2 baseline u/s which showed 3 cysts on the left ovary. They were all very small so they approved me for the procedure. CD 3-7 took Clomid 100mg each morning. CD 12 did mid cycle u/s which showed 2 follicles which were 24mm and 26mm. The doctor said these were very mature follicles and administered HCG shot to induce ovulation. They also did an Estradiol which was 975. When the result of the Estradiol came in they called and moved up the IUI a few hours saying that I had already started ovulating on my own. CD 13 We went in at 10:00 a.m. and DH gave his sample. It took 45 minutes for the lab tech to "pick out all of the good swimmers". Procedure was done at 11:45 that morning. They take DHs sample and they put it in a small, very thin catheter and insert it into the uterus. The sperm is then released inside the uterus so they are waiting when the eggs are released. Then I laid on the table for 30 minutes with my butt in the air. Then we were free to go home and wait. They told us that we got 62 million swimmers with 82% motility. CD 27, which was 14dpo I took an Equate HPT and it was positive. CD 28, which was 15dpo I got a blood test and also used Equate and both were positive. The blood test was a quantitative and showed 27.5. CD 30, which was 17dpo had another quantitative HCG to make sure level was going up and it was 62.9. Temperatures were as follows: CD 13 97.8
Symptoms included cramping and yellow CM from 11-13dpo. Still having some mild cramping now. I usually had white/creamy CM after O, but was dry this cycle. Also, CP stayed high and soft from IUI on. My temps were lower than normal for me. Usually I had temps in the 99.0 range and sometimes higher. I started getting nauseated at about 13dpo and has continued. No real desire to eat from 13dpo on. Started getting very tired and napping about 13dpo also.

Leslie - 6cycles We were ttc for six months before we got pregnant (I had one miscarriage - ectopic actually a few years ago). I charted temps and cm the last four months we were trying (and wish I had been charting all along!!). I did try robitussin the fifth month ttc with mixed results - I did have more cm, but I had a terrible time remembering to take it. I didn't take any the month we actually conceived. I thought we were out of the running the month we conceived because DH had a business trip right around the time I o'd. We dtd before he left and when he got back and, obviously, we were successful. One thing about charting temps - I didn't think I was PG the month I was because my temperatures had been very different that whole month. More up and down at the beginning and never rose as much as usual after O. In fact, if the other ladies on this board hadn't looked at my chart I probably wouldn't have tested as early as I did. So, thanks to everyone who looked at my temp chart and told me to test!!

Michele We DTD once a day every day I had EW. I propped my butt up on a pillow with my legs up for about 30 mins. after DTD. I also made my DH switch to boxers when we started TTC. I went off BCP's in late May. In June we didn't time it right -- that was before I read TCOYF. We conceived in July, but I had a m/c on Aug. 15th at 4 1/2 wks. Two weeks later on Aug. 30th, we conceived again.

Shelley We did the charting and temps thing every morning. I checked my cm and cp periodically throughout the day and starting about 1 week before ovulation we dtd everyday, without fail, no matter how tired we were! And just for good measure we dtd the day after ovulation, just to make sure. And wouldn't you know it, it happened the first month we were seriously trying! By the way, we're both 35 years old, if that makes any difference.

Jill I am annovulatory so I must say clomid was the answer. I tried for 2 months with no O (I O about 2-3 times a year so i knew it would be a problem) then used provera to start my period then used 50 mg of clomid days 5-9. Nothing else other than my prenatal vitamins from the doc. I of course did the temping and charting - which really helped cuz I woke up on the day I ovulated and saw a huge dip in my temp and took advantage of it that morning and dtd!

JenniferV Sorry I dont have an interesting story for this. I actually thought AF was on it's way and stocked up on Robitussin, EPO and RedRaspberry Tea. But never got to use it (except the tea) because O showed up on day 34 and we got pg!

Christine 13cycles We started TTC in Oct. 1997 and succeeded that month. We lost that baby on 1-8-98. Got TCOYF and started BBT after the 3 month waiting period and switched to a new Dr.. Looks like we conceived again in April but lost that one in May. Went back to Dr. TTC using BBT until 9-18-98 when the Dr. finally said we'd need some help getting PG again (my cycles never went back to normal and I was Oing as late as day 57!). Started Clomid on 9-18-98. Was on 50mg from days 5 through 9. First month on Clomid I O'd on day 15 or 18 and never had much EWCM. Had hot flashes and a few headaches and that was about it for side effects. Progesterone was only 5.9 so the Dr. prescribed Clomid again (still 50mg). Second month on Clomid (days 5-9) I started Robitussin (2tsp. 2x a day) on day 10 until O - had some EWCM this month. Also used OPK from day 13 'til O. Got + OPK on day 16 (DTD) and O'd on day 17. Progesterone went up to a healthy 20.7 and tested a faint + at 13 dpo. Took forever but we finally made it with the help of all the wonderful women on this site and a great Dr.! Never thought it'd take that long but it was well worth the wait and I would have never learned so much had I not been TTC for so long! Thanks again for creating such a wealth of information!!!!!

Sandrine - 5cycles I started my cycle taking Dong Quai, but had to stop it because it was upsetting my stomach. We didn't dtd for about a week before time to start the dancing season (about 4-5 days before O). Then we dtd every night until O, well O was late so after that we dtd every other day as long as I saw CM and no temp shift. I never really saw any EWCM, more like creamy and stretchy, but it must have been enough. Oh, and this was cycle 5, but the second one where I took Dong Quai (the first time I just took 1 pill, and it made my stomach upset some but not much, 2nd time I followed directions on the label and took like 1-2 caps at each meal)

Kristine - I basically did everything I wasn't supposed to do. I didn't temp because it was getting me more obsessed. So I thought I would take a month off. Day 12 we dtd but just for fun. DH was working alot and he was working outdoors so he came home exhausted everyday. I didn't think I really had a chance that cycle and I was reading posts about girls using Evening Primrose Oil. (I wasn't having much CM) So I went out and bought a giant bottle and started taking them about 3 dpo. Well, Momma told me that you should only take them from after AF to O. So I figured, well any chance I had was out the window now. I was about 3 days late and DH told me not to get hopes up, he was so sad for me every time AF showed. I took The Test that day and got a positive! So I can't really recommend my method but it's the end result that counts!!

JennyU Stopped BCP in May 1998
Started Clomid days 3 - 7 in Oct. 1998
Tested positive @ 13 dpo on Oct. 31st

Shannon - I got pg after three months without taking any drugs or anything. I drank more water to increase CM, but never saw any EWCM. That cycle, for the first time, put legs up for 20 min. after DTDing. Oh, and my temps really weren't very high if that makes anybody feel better. The last time I took it, at 14 dpo, it was only 98.1!!!!!
