A month later we were pregnant again, but unfortunately our baby boy was born to Heaven at 30 weeks with the chromosome disorder of Trisomy 18. We had been ttc for 3 years and I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility and my husband was diagnosed with low morphology (good sperm but they just didn’t really know what the heck to do!). So after 5 months of clomid and an unsuccessful IUI we decided to try IVF. The first round of meds for IVF did not do much so I had to stop those meds and try another set of meds (and of course NONE of the expenses of IVF including meds are covered by our insurance). The second set of meds worked and I had 4 okay embroyos for them to transfer back into me. I am very fortunate that one of the embroyos took and I now have a healthy 8 month old son. My husband and I wanted to have more kids but could not again go thru the IVF emotional roller coaster-not to mention the cost!!! So I was doing research online and started checking out herbs. I am frequent lurker on TTC board and saw that momma Kath offered Herbs. I decided to write her an email and give her our background of infertility and see what she recommended. For me it was No. 3 Herbs for Her and then I added Maca and the Progest pills. For my husband she recommended Libilov pills. We were on the herbs for 3 weeks (one cycle) and I was wondering where AF was? I decided to test with the complimentary pregnancy tests Momma Kath sent. I almost DIED when I saw 2 lines show- I then emailed Momma Kath to see what she thought and she said a LINE IS A LINE!!! I then called Ob GYN and decided to go in for a blood test to make sure. I am amazed. Thank you so much! I know it is early still, but now at least I know I can conceive. With love, Bridgett +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ April 26, 2005 My husband and I were married 3 years before we began ttc, four years later we still had not accomplished our goal of having a family. I had seen my doctor throughout this process and had been diagnosed with polycystic ovaries. My husband had 1 SA that had come back some what low 25- 30 million with low motility and just ok morphology. His urologist put him on Proxeed and he took that for about 6 months. I had been very reluctant to try any assisted reproductive procedures. Finally, this year I tried anything recommeded by my RE, 1 round of IVF with ICSI on 2 follicles which failed. While I was waiting to try again we found out I was pregnant on our own!! But, 6 weeks later I miscarried. I was upset but, elated that for the first time I had gotten pregnant. At least, I knew my body would even know what that was. My RE recommmeded we try IUI since we had concieved on our own and he felt very strongly about it, I'd had a D&C because of the miscarriage and sometimes that can really help your chances. Also I had been going to acupunture treatments for about 2 months. A little scared to do an IUI we began, my husband had several SA by now and they were all very normal but, I wasn't quite sure. Long story short, I had 3 follicles went in back to back days for inseminations ( 2 total), a progesterone booster later I found out I was pregnant. I am 13 weeks now and everything has been very normal, nothing compared to the last one and we are expecting twins! I just wanted to write in and hopefully, give encouragement to anyone still TTC. It took us 4 years but, here we are and everything I went through was not as bad as I had thought. Even with a terrible fear of needles!!! So, to all of you still trying don't give up hope and see a fertility specialist sooner rather than later, I wish I had. It's amazing how your chances lower the older we get.
