I've had two (2) miscarriages and my doctor suggested that
I try Clomid (being that my problem was hormone related
and not infertility related)....well after just one five (5) day
dose of Clomid (50mg) I am now pregnant and things are
looking good thus far. My only side effect were hot flashes,
    they were tolerable.
I wish all of you who are experiencing
what my husband and I have experienced the best of luck!
Just have faith and don't give up....
    things will work out.

    MommaKath - a quick question...
I have irregular cycles (usually ovulate around cd 20 - 30).
In the last 2 months taking Vitex and Alfalfa
(I stopped alfalfa after I confirmed ovulation which was cd 43 this time!)
So, needless to say, I ovulated really late this cycle
    (first cycle on Vitex/Alfalfa).
    That's not the only problem...
    I used to have 13 - 14 days LP,
    which was perfect.
This time I am 17dpo and still no AF.
My temp dropped about coverline this morning
so I think af will be here tonight or tomorrow.
    I am not pregnant.
I guess my question is, was this because of Vitex
that my lp is MUCH longer this time?
what happens if 18dpo comes and still no af, no BFP???
    what will I do?
Thank you very much in advance for your reply.
I am very looking forward to hearing from you.
    I am so confused, frustrated....
I just want to start a new cycle.
    Tiff
    Hi Tiff
Vitex can be credited for raising progesterone levels
which is important for conception and implantation.
I think you've got the right combination
so please do it again next cycle
    (if it comes to that).
    Love and {{{hugs}}}

    Hello Momma Kath,
As for me, I got a BFP on 18dpo because my temp bounced back

Thank you for always getting back to me so quickly.
By the way I'm convinced that the herbal concoction
you suggested is why I got pregnant so quickly,
    so thank you.

I just wanted to write a little story
because i read all of them
and they gave me so much hope.
Dh and I have been TTC for over 1 year
I just found out tonight that I am Pregnant.
    I am still in shock.
Well I can say the only different thing
I did this month was give up
    caffeine and smoking completly,
    and I bought
    opks and used two sticks.
And my symptoms (I couldn't wait to read everyones symptoms)
were AF cramps I actually cried cause
I thought it was coming for sure the only thing
really different for me was that my bbs hurt
2 days after o and they still hurt
now usually for me they hurt only 4 or 5
days prior to AF and then that's it
AF comes and they don't hurt at all and
one more thing I prayed everynight,
    everyday, well pretty much everytime
    I had a spare minute.
    When everyone ended their story
    with don't give up hope
they couldn't of been more right.
Thanks to all of you for your support.
I know I am only like two minutes pregnant
but I am so excited besides
Dh you are the first to know.
Good Luck to everyone and lots of baby dust!!!!!!!
    (and prayers)

Baby dust from me to all of you!

I am just now writing my success story
as it has taken this long for reality to set in for me.
From the time I was 12 and I started to menstruate,
I knew something wasn't quite right with my body.
    It took eleven years before
I finally learned that I had PCOS.
Until then, I never imagined it
would be so difficult for me to concieve.
I started to do some research and learned a lot
from reading how others on this site
have coped with the same feelings, etc.
I visited a doctor in our area who prescribed Clomid.
I started out at 50 mg,
which worked the first time, but not the second.
She then bumped me up to the 100 mg dose,
    which seemed to work effectively.
I charted my temperatures and took the pills faithfully
at the same time each day without success.
I would look forward to seeing that temperature spike
and counting the days to AF,
but each month I grew more and more disappointed.
My husband and I made it through
6 cycles with nothing but disappointment.
On the 7th cycle, just as I was contemplating "giving up",
I made an appointment to see
a reproductive specialist in September of 2002.
Three days after my appointment with him, my husband and
I learned we were pregnant with our very first child.
There would be no need for a follow-up to his office.
The only thing I did different in cycle 7
    is that I took Robitussin
and I can't say if this is what did trick or not.
To this day, I think this was a sign from God telling us to never give up and
never underestimate what we think may be impossible.
Now I am 34 weeks pregnant
and am getting excited for the baby's arrival in May.
It is supposed to be a boy,
but either or would be a total blessing in my eyes.
Please let our story help you through your tough times
and know that miracles do happen -
maybe not on your terms or when you had planned -
but they can and do happen.
Let that be your inspiration to continue on your quest to have a baby.
Thank you for letting me share my story with you.
My thoughts are prayers are with you all.
    -Tina

    Hi!
My husband (age 25) and I (age 26)
had been trying to conceive baby#2 for over a year
when I went to be ob/gyn for my annual checkup.
I explained how we had been trying to no avail.
He referred me to a reproduction specialist.
We saw him in January. He x-rayed me for
blocked tubes and he tested my husband's sperm.
The results were that I was fine but my husband
had a low sperm count and low motility.
He started me on Clomid in February and
did the IUI at the end of February.
    We just did one IUI
24 hours after I received an hcg shot to ovulate.
I knew it didn't take because I didn't feel ANY different.
No cramps, no breast tenderness, nothing.
    By March 13th, my birthday,
I was officially notified I was pregnant.
I guess my prego radar wasn't working!
I am now almost 10 weeks pregnant,
sicker than a dog, and loving every minute!!
Good luck ladies - keep thinking happy thoughts!!!

    BFP!!! (long)
    Posted By: CindyF, ttc#2 19 months,cd38, 14 dpo
    Sunday, 27 April 2003, at 09:27 AM
    Good Morning ladies!
I hope I see many more posts like mine today!!!
My temp was still up this morning,
usually drops around 12 dpo, so I was suspicious.
Tested at 5:00AM and got the BFP!
Let DH sleep before I told him about 1/2 hour ago.
We are both still in shock.
It took 2 years for ds and 19 months for this pregnancy,
in all these years of trying,
    I've O'd only 8 times,
so for all you women that don't O,
    don't give up hope!!!!
    Symptoms -
  • feels like AF symptoms except that nipples are sore,
  • I was depressed for two weeks
(which is usually not like me, I'm the happy go lucky type) and
  • I have had a lot of little pains on my right side.
I know that I must have O'd on that side
because my left tube is blocked.
The pains started getting stronger again around 8 dpo,
so perhaps it was implantation that causes that ovary
to release more progesterone, thus the pain.
Sorry so long, but I know that when I read BFP messages
I like to know all the info so I can obsess more!
    One other thing...
I bought a bunch of pregnancy tests on line at early-pregnancy-tests.com
and didnt get a BFP from those tests!
I used the Walmart brand and got the bfp very quickly.
Good luck to all you ladies!
++++++++thoughts and prayers for you all.
    Cindy
