I have been coming to the ttc site for over a year now, hoping to someday post on the Success board. I'm still 99% in shock, even though I've had 3 betas, all showing the hcg more than doubling. Here's my story: DH and I experienced a miscarriage last September 2 (2001) and immediately started trying again. We tried Clomid, Clomid/IUI, and injectables/IUI with only negative results. With every month, I got more frustrated and bitter. In March, my husband gave up cigarettes - and let me tell you, it sure helped. It took until our 2nd IUI to really notice a difference in my husband's sperm count/motility/grade, but it was a huge improvement. Now, the pressure was all on me. We tried 5 months of IUI/injectables, then decided to move on to IVF. Because of the cost, we decided to wait until January to have the procedure. In the mean time, I'd stay on the Glucophage for my PCOS and we'd try on our own. September 23rd was our anniversary, and I noticed a few days before that I had ewcm. I thought it was too good to be true that I'd O on my own, but I knew we would bd on our anniversary. Lo and Behold, 14 days later, I got a BFP on my hpt!! I'm praying to hear a heartbeat and that everything's OK. Symptoms: slightly sore bbs, but less than other months when I THOUGHT I was pg, AF-type cramps (what they say is true, ladies. I thought AF was on her way), VERY VERY tired and run down, and peeing more, but not much more. The main thing I have to say is DON'T give up hope. I thought there was no way in the world I'd get pg without IVF. If I can, it is possible for ANYONE. Also, don't think that just because you have AF symptoms, you're out of the game! Good luck to you all!

I have not been an active member of your boards, but I have been reading all of your success stories for quite some time now. I am so happy to say that I am finally pregnant! We have been TTCing for seven months. My last two cycles were completely out of wack and crazy, 58 days and 70 something days. We went through everything to try to find out why I am not O'ing: u/s, tons of blood tests, sperm analysis, the whole works. I finally got a referral to an O/B who would put me on Clomid in December. At my last appointment my doctor prescribed me Provera to bring on Aunt Flo, if she hadn't arrived by CD 78. I went to the drugstore and got the prescription. My doctor said, "Just make sure you do an HPT, before you take the Provera." We abstained for two weeks, I took the HPT and it was POSITIVE. It really was a miracle. Just when you think you will never get it, there it is! We conceived on CD 65! From, Melanie |

I have been visiting your site for the last year almost every day.And I enjoy reading the postings and information. It is official!!!I find it had to believe after ttc for 18 months for #1 and 1st IUI.DH is 31 and I'm are 32. I hope my story is not going to be too long or boring. DH and I got married in July 99;and went on birth control immediately.I stopped BCP in April 2001 and nothing happened for months. My period was regular until Sept 2001 when I had midcycle bleeding.I went to see my OBGYN who conclude I was not ovulating and put me on clomid in October 2001.My period did not come for 2 months then see gave me Provera for 10days;for my period to come which it did.I started 50mg of clomid in December 2001 but didn't ovulated according to my BBT and fertility monitor. She increased the dose to 100mg which was successful for ovulation.I ovulated for seven months months with good bbt curves with no pregnancy.I was always upset on days my period came. In August 2002,my husband went for his SA which came back with low sperm count of 6 million and motility of 80%.The urologist recommend surgery to remove his variocele.By this time,I was getting frustrated with my OBGYN who just wanted to increase my dose of clomid to 150mg.I refused this and asked for an HSG which came back normal. Taking my sister's suggestion that I should seek a more aggressive doctor;I found and RE with no recommendation. At my first appt he diagnosed I had a very tight cervix opening of only about 1mm and recommended an IUI with my husband's sperm. He placed him on clomid also for one week till my period arrived. On day 15,I went in for an US and we found 2 follicles of 25mm and 15mm in diameter.I gave myself the HCG shot at home at 9.00pm.We went back on day 17 at 9am for the IUI.My husband and I waited for about 45 mins for the semen to be washed;signed in the consent and had the insemination done. After which I had to lie on my back for 30mins;my husband and I prayed to God for His will to be done and that the procedure be without complications. My bbt went up to 98.1 form 97.7 the day after the IUI.At 6dpiui the bbt increased further to 98.8 and plateaued at this reading till day 32(15dpiui).I suspected pregnancy at this time but I had not yet missed my period and didn't want to take a HPT and get another BFN. Between 5- 7 days after the IUI I started having premenstrual cramps.I found this strange because I don't usually have cramps this early before my period comes. My nipples were slightly tender which was on and off.I started falling asleep at 8pm and waking to pee twice during the night. On day 35 when I was 2 days late,I took a test with Aimstick and got a BFP in less than a minute.I was so happy and immediately went on my knees to thank God for the gift.I then called my DH who was on a business trip to tell him the news.I had planned to do it in a romantic way but just could not wait. I just got back for my RE who was also surprised the IUI was successful at the first try.He did an US and gave me a picture of the baby at 3wks6days after conception. He also sent me for some blood work.I return in two weeks to check for the heart beat.He also told me I can now stop taking HPT because I've already taking 4 tests to be sure.By the way, after the successful treatment,I now hear about the good recommendations of my RE.I thank God for directing me to him I don't have morning sickness but feel sick in the evenings at about 7pm.My appetite has decreased and I feel bloated most of the time;passing a lot of gas (both ways) and fatigued more easily.
I appreciate the medical intervention to conceive but I give all the glory to God for this pregnancy.I just want other ladies out there to trust in Him through His Son,Jesus Christ for the fruit of the womb.We should always remember He is in control and His timing is always perfect.

I can't believe I finally get to write my very own success story after all these years of reading them on this site. They were my inspiration and the first place I'd check each month to hear about pregnancy symptoms. Anyway, I started trying 3 years ago and after a year and 3 months with my OB telling my to relax I went to and RE. THey did the usual fertility work up and it came out perfect. No problems detected. No problems with DH. We tried one round of clomid with IUI. No luck. They classified me as "unexplained." My options were to keep going with various fertility treatments or to have a lap. During this time I really thought I could have endo even though I didn't really have many signs. I did however have start having stomach problems...cramping, diarrhea, etc. about a year after the pill, clotting, mid cycle spotting, and cramps! I told these to my OB and she actually told me I wouldn't have endo b/c I was on the pill so long. I knew she was wrong so changed Dr.s and went for the lap Nov 2001. Sure enough I had endo. Doc said it was moderate to severe. Said our best chances were to conceive right after surgery. In March of 2002 we still had no luck so I went to a new fertility clinic recommended by a friend. He told us our best shot was IVF. We started in July as soon as my new insurance kicked in. I also stared acupuncture with the IVF cycle (I highly recommend this!) We just found out last week that we're pregnant from our first IVF cycle! Yesterday we found out that we have twins. I can't believe it. It is so shocking to be pregnant after all these years. God answered all our prayers. I know the huge circle of friends we had praying for us is the reason we've been so blessed! And, just trusting that God has a plan and his timing is perfect. It really is perfect. Next week we move into our new home and I'm pregnant along with several of my best friends! My first symptoms: horrible indegestion 9-11 dpo and around 10-11 dpo the glands around my nipples were raised. I was also very thirsty around 10 dpo. started having to pee a lot around 13dpo. (I count dpo as days past retreival) Good luck to all of you and keep
praying!

Hello again, Momma Kath, My name is Alyssa, and I'm the one who sent you the e-mail about your fertility herbs helping me to ovulate, which you have posted on your home page. It has been about a year since I have accessed your site due to many things. After I sent you the first e-mail I continued to use your herbs, which continued to work. The only problem was that it was very hard to determine when I would ovulate,,, some months would be the 19th day of my cycle, some months would be the 21st day,,, and so on. It became very frustrating to chart because of how unruly my cycles were. Finally,,,my dr. decided to put me on clomid to see if that would help... he was hoping that the boost in hormones along with your fertility herbs would do the trick Well,,,, thankfully he was correct!! My husband and I successfully conceived our baby on our fourth cycle of clomid!! I thought about writing you many times to share with you and everyone our wonderful news... but was worried that I would jinx the whole thing so decided to hold off until I felt more comfortable. So, finally,,, here I am, sharing my news. I had a wonderful pregnancy and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on July 22, 2002. We named her Trinity Adele,,, and we love her more then anything! She is truly a miracle, and I know that you and your website helped me along in our very long,,,but worthwhile process. Thank you so much for everything you do! You give many women the strength and courage to continue their ttc journey,,,, I know that because I was one of them. Thanks again, and god bless. Love, Greg, Alyssa and Baby Trinity! |

After trying for a while, went on clomid for 2 months and got pregnant. Had a miscarriage at week 7. Finally went back on clomid and nothing. After 5 months of clomid, I am finally pregnant. I had a feeling this month and was very positive about being pregnant. I really wanted to be and I was. On dpo 13 my temp was still up so I took a test and it was definitely positive. I read all the success stories before me. I am so very happy. Going to my
obgyn on saturday to make sure every thing is okay. I will be 5 weeks
tomorrow!

Dear Kathy, Thank you so much for this site. It really gave me hope when I read all the success stories of all the other ladies here. I came off the pill at the end of June and had a 37 day cycle. We started ttc in August as we felt the first month would be a bust, not knowing when I was ovulating, etc. I didn't hold out much hope because I thought we had missed 'o' day by a long shot. So the rest of August was spent just having fun 'bd'ing. I tested twice on Saturday and both were very positive and I also went and got a blood test which was positive because I still couldn't believe it. Today I went and bought another HPT because I can't quite come to terms with the fact that I am pregnant. I haven't had any real symptoms yet which is really worrying as most women seem to get tender breasts and nausea quite early on! My first appointment is in 3 weeks time and I can hardly wait because only once I see the ultrasound will I be able to believe that I am actually carrying a baby inside me! Thanks so much to all the wonderful ladies out there. I know I probably make some people who have been ttc for ages gag, but I also felt that it might not happen for me because my sister is completely sterile and will never be able to have children. |

my husband and i had a healthy, hearty baby boy in april 2002. we started trying to conceive the previous spring. i was 37 at the time with fairly regular cycles, clearly ovulating (i was charting), but with little egg white cm. after trying for 3 cycles with no luck, we tried eggwhites on the day of ovulation and that was the day i got pregnant. who knows if the eggwhites did it, but it seemed worth a try! a happy mom |

I am 26 years old, married for 5 years, DH is 32. TTC'd #1 in 1999-2000 for quite a while. Was diagnosed with PCOS and, after several rounds of vitamin/progesteron treatments was put on Clomid. Conceived on the 5th try (2 times 50mg, 3 times 100mg). Gave birth to our wonderful daughter on 1 Feb 2001. In May 2001 decided to get an IUD - big mistake. Bled and spotted non-stop for 6 months and had the IUD removed. After that experienced several irregular cycles, mostly anovulatory, sometimes as short as 10 days. Decided to try for #2 in Feb-March. I had two PERFECT cycles without any medication -- loads of EWCM for several days, nice long LPs... No luck. Went to my doctor (he is French) who put me on 100mg of Clomid since it got me pregnant the first time around. To say that I was obsessed would be an understatement. I tried to interpret every single little thing that was happening to me every day. I read TTC Success Stories over and over again trying to find a cycle that would resemble mine... I took Clomid from day 3 to day 7, had pretty bad headaches -- but that was the same the last time around so I just took my Ibuprofen and never gave it another thought. Had to take prescription estrogen pills to improve mucus from day 8 to ovulation. I also followed the TTC advice -- drank green tea, took 1000mg of EPO and for several days preceding ovulation I took baby aspirin. THERE WAS NO MUCUS TO BE SEEN. I took BBT every morning. My doctor did an u/s on day 10 and said that I had two small follicles (about 10mm) -- he expected them to be bigger on Clomid. Since I ovulate very late in the cycle I knew that it simply was too ea! rly to measure for me. Went to see the doctor on day 15 -- one follicle grew to 18mm so the doctor wished me good luck and told me to take low-dose progesteron pills from the day BBT rises to AF or 12th week of pregnancy to exclude any miscarriage risks. I used an OPK with showed a "+" on day 20. We DTD'd like crazy for about 8 days before the O day and a couple of days afterwards. Then I started watching for SIGNS -- spotting around day 7, cramps, hunger, fatigue, breast tenderness... I HAD NONE! The only curious detail was that my BBT after O was quite even (37,1 - 37,2), same as the last time I got pregnant (I kept the old records which showed that during the unsuccessful cycles my temperature jumped back and forth from 37,0 to 37,4). But I noticed that only in retrospect. At 11dpo I tested and got a "-". At 12 dpo I let the test lying around for 3-4 hours at which point I noticed something where the second line should be -- I could not even call it a faint line. At 13 dpo a very faint line appeared about 20 minutes after I took the test (same brand -- a cheap German-made test called "Frautest"). And I actually started feeling a bit fatigued (which is a BIG handicap when you have a toddler on your hands). At 14dpo I tested with ClearBlue and the line appeared immediately! This was in the office and I couldnot think about work all day! We are thrilled and happy and relieved that I do not have to take Clomid again. I am going to see the doctor tomorrow. Now my breasts are getting bigger (but still are not as sensitive as the last time I was pregnant) and I feel tired and cold all the time (even when it's hot outside). I am also slowly getting queasy when sensing strong smells, particularly food. I have also started having bouts of insomnia (which I never have otherwise) and this was the same as in my first pregnancy. I've loved your site even since I found it in 2000 when I was desperately looking for some support on the Internet. It's so important to know that there can be problems that you have done nothing to create, and that you are not alone.
The conclusions I have made sofar are as follows:
