    Saturday, 23 October 1999, at 6:35 a.m.

Sharon ttc #2, 14 dpo finally,
    This is the month!!
    OK. Here goes.
    I was on clomid 50 mg, didn't o.
So this month the Dr. put me on 100mg.
I ordered a TTC Store Starter Supply of
opk's, hpt's, epo, red rasberry, and fso.
    Then, it became very scientific.
DH thought I was so funny. I was like, "OK, Do me"
    He just laughed and performed.
I really thought that we missed it,
because DH had to work all night the day of o.
But of course being the obediant DH,
we bd'ed for 2 straight nights before.
    LOL I guess it worked.
I also took a baby aspirin a day.
I was taking that when I got pg before.
Being an ER nurse, I don't want to have a
heart attack or stroke before my time.
I must have been a boy scout in a previous life,
because I am always prepared. LOL.
I did't take fso. Once I got it and saw how big it was,
I didn't know if I should swallow it, or inserted it. LOL
My temps did what they were suppossed to after o.
Before o they were all over the place.
I even went triphasic and had an implantation dip at 7dpo.
That's how I kind of knew.
So on 11 dpo, I couldn't wait any more.
I really knew it was too early to test,
    but I did it anyway.
    am a major obsessor!!
    Of course it was --tive.
    So, I went to work
and the more I thought about it,
    a plan began to form.
So I asked, they did it, and then the machine went down
and I had to wait another 30 minutes.
The lab tech showed me the result while I was on
the phone. I kept asking the poor lady
on the other end to repeat herself.
She probably thought I was nuts!!!
Well. I knew I had a Dr's appt on Weds.
So I went and guess what? It was on Tues and I missed it!!!
LOL I told the receptionist to tell my Dr.
I was pg and he would work me in.
She didn't like it, but she did it.
He was as excited as I was.
He hugged me and kissed me on the cheek.
He is the best Dr. I have ever had.
    He really listens to me.
So now I have a new OB appt in 2 weeks.
DH is very happy, except now he has to
have our house finished before May, so we can move in
    before the baby gets here.
It will go by so fast I know.
We were building a new house when I got pg with DS.
I was a total witch. I kept telling him he better have that
house finished before baby got here because I wasn't bringing
my new baby to the roach motel we were renting.
I really stayed on him. He would come home from
work and cook for me, then say "I am going down
to the house to work" At that point I would begin
to cry and said "Don't leave me here alone" LOL
Is it any wonder he wants to do it again!!
    He is super!!
I will try to be better this time.

Thanks for all the happy thoughts.
    You ladies are the best!!

Success Details for all hopefuls. I always loved lots of
details during my ttc time. Our edd is 6/23/00.

History: had an intestinal resection in 1994 where the tubes
happened to be wrapped around my intestines.
Before ttc, OB ordered an HSG to make sure tubes
were okay. MY DS was conceived on first try
in October 1996 at age 29.
I have taken prenatal vitamins since
    August 1996 continuously.

Went off bcp in September 1998,
but used other protection until April 1999.
Tried four months with no luck.
    Went to ob for help.
He was so nice and didn’t treat me
like a psycho for coming in
after only 4 months, probably due to my history.
He ordered 7 dpo blood work (which I did two months
at 12.7 and 13.1 levels, and had an elevated
prolactin level once) and a HSG.
Had the HSG after 5 months of trying.
    Everything looked good.
DH was scheduled to do his SA next,
lucky him, he never had to.
Month five was also the first month
    of using opks and temping.

The first month of temping was of no use.
I wasn’t consistent taking it the same time each day.
I was just taking it before I got out of bed
no matter what time it was.
The second month of charting was textbook.
Third month of charting (month seven of ttc)
    I stopped temping after ovulation,
    couldn’t handle the obsession.

Month seven, I started baby aspirin
everyday and green tea. However, the green tea
I bought had ginseng in it which my CB
said caused birth defects, so in 28 days,
I only had 6 cups. I hope not too much.

Lucky month seven, we bd’ed on Sun, Mon and Tues,
    cycle days 10, 11 and 12.
Got a positive opk on Wed. cd 13
and ovulated on Thursday, day 14.
    Tues. was the best ewcm.
Drinking lots of water really helps!

I was so upset with DH for not bd’ing on
Wed. and Thurs. that I didn’t speak to him for a week!
I figured we blew it. He was worn out.
Since we never did the SA,
I didn’t know what we were dealing with
(or how many!) LOL According to this site,
    it’s a girl. Don’t girl spermies live a
long time? These had to that far away from O!
Beginning at 5 dpo, I began feeling ligament stretches
in the uterus area. I’ll describe them as
feeling like you have a pulled muscle in your stomach
but it goes away real fast. I feel them if I
stand up too fast or abruptly.
The only other time I’ve ever had a pain
like that was when I was pg the first time.
But I don’t remember it quite so early.
Had those ligament stretches from 5 dpo
    to today, 14 dpo.

Felt somewhat nauseous from 5 dpo to 7 dpo.
And the weirdest funny little pain I’ve ever felt,
okay, maybe it was coincidence since it was on 7 dpo.
But it was to the left of my belly button
and it felt bruised for about an hour or so.
Funny place for a bruise! LOL
    Had hot flashes 9 dpo.
The cramps on 12 dpo were a killer.
I was so depressed, I knew af was coming.
They mysteriously disappeared on 13 dpo.
On days 13 - 14 dpo, my face was flush.
Felt very warm all day long.
Never got my tell-tale af, underground blemish
either. At 12-13 dpo I noticed small pimply bumps
around the dark part on my bbs. Since LoriR had
just posted about them, I knew something was up.
I checked them as soon as I got home on 13 dpo
    and I wasn’t imagining things.
I never had sore nips like I did with my first pg.
That was my sign last time. I can still
touch them. Last time, a bump in the car and
the shower hurt them, plus I was very gassy.

From 10 dpo forward, I went to bed an hour earlier
each night. I was tired! And I really had
hunger pains in the morning when I woke up which
I never have. I cried a lot but never really got
    af irritability.

Now for the fun part, EDD is 6/23.
My DS and my DH were both born on 6/24. What luck!
After seven months of trying, I didn’t want to abstain just
because of birthday conflicts, but Murphy’s Law prevails.
Provided that I go a full nine months, we’ll be busy the end of June.
My kiddos will be exactly 3 years apart. I’ll be 33 and DH will
    turn 40 that week.

I have a new respect for ttc. Since it came so easy the
first time, I expected it to the second time.
God has a plan, I kept telling myself. It was very hard.
Everyone around me was pg, my next
door neighbor, my best friend, my new step-sister,
people at work. I had to remind myself that I
had one child and was very blessed with him.
I may not get another. Seven months seems short
to some elder ttc’ers but it seemed like forever to me.
This child will be so very appreciated for
the work it took to get it here. Wow!

And I couldn’t have done it without
all the knowledge from this site.
Thank you GMomma-Kath for creating a wonderful place.
This place is incredible! I lurked for two months part-time.
Then started posting and lurking for two months after,
a lot. My work productivity has plummeted since
I found this site. Buy hey, I’m pg! What’s more important?? LOL

    For a laugh, on 13 dpo, I had a call from a co-worker at
another location who asked about a rumor he had just heard.
Seems it was going around that I was pg with twins, no less!
I assured him it was a rumor and he wouldn’t give up the source.
I didn’t test until 14 dpo. No one at work knew I was ttc,
so who knows where it came from. So ..... if someone over
there has a crystal ball, you don’t think,
    could there be two??????
    Hugs to all,

    Lil-Lisa

Dust*~*~*~*~*~*~ and Details what a combo!

Okay ladies here are all of the details.
I got confirmation from the doctor yesterday
that my HCG was positive and good numbers.
DH and I tried for one year on our own.
I had temped during that whole time
plus six months prior. My charts were
good. We went to an RE in June.
I had an HSG and bloodwork,DH had an SA.
The only thing they turned up was poor motility on DH.
He had been taking vitamins multi,C,E,and zinc.
The doc suggested Proxeed for three months.
This month had been three months so we decided to try IUI
with 100mg clomid. On day 15 we had a successful
IUI. DH's count was 230 million compared to 25 million at
    his last SA.
I did not temp this cycle.
I had wicked mood swings for the first couple
of weeks after the IUI, sometimes I just
    wanted to kill DH.
I started to get really tired around 12dpIUI.
I have had pulling, pressure, and aches in the area
just above the folds in my legs. I think this is from
ligament stretching. I noticed blue veins on my abdomen
and BB's. I did not break out or spot around AF time
like I always do. I had slightly sore BB's
but I get that with AF. CM comes and goes.
    I had absolutely no spotting.

I hope this helps you guys.
I want to encourage everyone to
hang in there it will happen for you!!

Thanks again to all of the support, advise,
and love you ladies have supplied.
See you on the alumni board!!

    Hi ladies.
I'm not sure how to begin-here goes.
    I am 30, dh is 31, dd is 4 1/2.
We have been ttc for one year after two miscarriages.
I had all but given up when we got on line.
I lurked around for a few weeks on this site and others.
I was just about to follow some of your great advice
when I found out I was pregnant just this past Tuesday.
Thank you all soooooo much for giving advice and tips.
My prayers will be with you all
and i hope yours will be with me.
    Thanks,
    Ebony.mom

    I Oed On CD24!
I feel I am indebted to this website for all the knowledge
    about how to conceive.
It was indeed this knowledge that made my pregnancy
possible. When we first started exactly a year ago,
I was doing it blindly, thinking that my cycle was as ordinary as others.
After 5,6 attempts, I realized that it wasn't working.
I started to seek help from the internet,
and found TTC. Unfortunately we had to stop for few
months due to travel. In mid-July, I started to take temperatures,
and found out that I Oed on CD 21. Last cycle
(the one that I got PG in) I Oed on CD 24!
So the key is, ladies, DON'T GIVE UP! Be diligent about
    taking temps, and keep trying!
But once you are sure you have Oed, then you can stop
    temping until the next cycle.
By the way, I turned 37 two weeks ago,
so time is certainly not on my side.
Two days ago, I did two HPTs, but only waited for 3 min.
before throwing them into the trash (Didn't see any second line).
I woke up today with sore boobs, so out of curiosity,
I picked up the sticks from the trash, and saw two lines
on both of them! I quickly did another test,
and the second line appeared within 3 minutes.
I've been having a nasty, nasty cold for a week,
but the doctor told me it has nothing to do with the
    possibilities of getting a miscarriage.
As about details, I've mentioned temping.
In fact, I usually go to the bathroom once or twice
each night so I rarely get more than three hours sleep straight.
Nonetheless I diligently temped every night.
I kept a clock with a light button on my bedside.
If I felt I'd had three hours sleep,
no matter what time it was, I would take the temp
before going to the bathroom. The temps may not have
been that accurate, but there was a clear distinction
between pre and post O days.
Pre were usually around 97 to 97.3, and post were 97.7
    up to 98.9.
Again, these temps were taken at different times from
1 am to 6 am because of my sleeping habits.
Well, it worked for me! Good luck to you all,
and if you have odd cycles like mine, there's still lots of
    hope, so don't give up!
