Well, this success was more of a shock! After trying for so long to get pregnant with Cameron, then finally succeeding, then having him in March of 2001, my dh and I decided that we were going to wait about 5 years before trying to have a second child. I then decided to go on birth control pills until the time was right.

In September (6 months after my son was born) I realized that I had missed a cycle and figured the birth control pills had messed me up. I called my doctor to find out if I needed new pills and he had me come in immediately. I had never missed a pill, was never on any antibiotics, and took my pills religiously so it had to be that the strength of the pill was messing me up....nope. My doctor gave me a pregnancy test and much to my surprise it came back positive.

What was even more of a shock was 3 weeks later, I went in for my first ultrasound. Right away I saw them...yes them...I realized that I'm pregnant not with one baby, but twins. Oh the surprise! My dh nearly dropped Cameron from the shock of it all. I went back that afternoon for another ultrasound to see if what we were looking at was infact another baby or a shadow; needless to say, we are definitely pregnant with twins.

    I have definitely been blessed!!!

    Momma Kath,

I am eight weeks pregnant!!! I think lots of prayer was the key, the tons of carrots didn't hurt, either.

Even though I had eaten a great deal of carrots, I got a bad cold and DH and I only did the BD once. I was also going on a trip that had stressed me out. I had decided to skip this cycle, so I was shocked when the faintest pink line appeared. It only took 4 months, but I expected it to take longer, because I had been on the pill for 4 years. This is my first pregancy and baby, so I am very excited. Pray for me, because I am already high-risk, due to blood pressure.

Thanks for this web site, it was the very helpful to me.

After a terrible, painful, devastating 4 week miscarriage December 24, 1999, with my son I named Paul, I got pregnant with my precious Parker who was born December 5, 2000. (P.S. The green tea helped alot!!) He is the light of my life and I have been so blessed by his arrival despite the 24 hours of labor it took to have him - he was well worth it!

This site was a God send knowing there were other women that were experiencing difficulty getting pregnant. I found out I was pregnant on an TTC pregnancy test where the second line showed up 30 minutes after I took the test! I thought for sure I had done it wrong.

Thank you Momma Kath for this site - you have reached out to so many! When I'm ready for the second baby - I'll be here!

    Always,

    Traci

    Clomid Success Story!

My name is Jessica, I am 27 years old and DH is 28. I was on birth control pills for 8 years, went off of them 9/00 got pregnant in November of 2000 and then had a miscarriage in 12/00 at 5w3d due to a Blighted Ovum. Dh and I had been ttc since then and in April discovered that my progesterone was very low, 5.5. My dr suggested Clomid and I did a lot of research and we decided to give it a try. I was prescribed 50mg of Clomid on days 3-7. On cycle day 14 I went in for an ultra sound and had several follicles, but only one "mature" follicle measuring 24 mm in size. They gave me an HCG shot to induce ovulation and then time intercourse accordingly. On July 24th I realized that my period was 4 days late, I took an EPT and it was POSITIVE, I could not believe my eyes! I had a blood test to confirm my pregnancy and learned that my progesterone was at 29.30!!!!!

Clomid worked for us and not only did it work but it worked the very first round!!!!

I am now 16 1/2 weeks pregnant and VERY thankful that we gave clomid a try!

It's taken me forever to be able to get back on line and chat, but...

I TTC'd for 6 years with an unusually high prolactin level. On May 19, 2001, Chloe Pearl was born after a phenomenal 4 hours of labor and she is beautiful. Chloe turns 5 months old very soon and if we didn't have the support from your site Momma Kath, we may not have been able to remain sane.

Just a word of encouragement that it can happen even after you are told by every doctor you've ever seen that you can't get pregnant. The next doctor (our last of course) was an answered prayer. Here's to your happy and healthy blessing.

    Damon, Lesa, and Chloe

Well Girls, I have been on this site for a little over a year and I finally get to do what I have wanted to do ever since I first stumbled upon this wonderful place.....write a SUCCESS story!!!

I have been anovulatory since I was 14, only getting my period once or twice a year. I went on bcp in college and was on them for 10 years. I cringe when I think about all of the $$$$ I could have saved if only knew I wouldn't have gotten pregnant anyway!!! HEE HEE! Anyway, knowing my dilema, my obgyn put me on clomid, 50mg, with no success. We then went to 100mg and I ovulated! Of course I KNEW I was pregnant. Just like every other time. Whatever.....

I grew a tolerance to the clomid and again, didn't ovulate. Of course my insurance company, even after letters from my doctor explaining my medical history, refused to let me see a specialist until we had been trying a year. Great. I waited until April and went to see Dr. Marshburn...my HERO!!!!

All of my tests came back normal ,however, because I didn't ovulate and I grew a tolerance to clomid, he suspected my insulin levels to be screwed up. Basically, when a woman ovulates, her insulin should go down when her LH goes up. Well, mine was not going down so when the eggs started to grow, they would reach a certain point, and my own insulin would kill them. I was put on Metformin and suffered the diarhea and all for 5 months, but miraculously, I was getting my period...on my own. YES! I was ovulating.

When pregnancy was not achieved the Dr. decided it was time for an IUI w/ clomid. I sobbed like a baby when ! DH had to give me my HCG shot and went in for the IUI ready to become prego. Hubby's count was 64 million. We were positive. I had major abdominal cramps, and after a few days I had a feeling that it didn't work....and I was right. 1 hour after my NEG. beta, I got my period. I was pumped for the next cycle. I was very brave for the next HCG. Not one tear!!

The IUI went well....hubby's count was 54 million and I told him in the Dr.'s office that I felt very positive about this one. The next 7 days I had back cramps....like AF was on her way.

I had very few, if any, abdominal cramps. Time went on and my nipples were sore...a weird sore. I didn't want to get my hopes up, so I didn't tell anyone I was going to use a leftover HPT on Tues., Oct.2. That was our 2nd anniversary and I thought It would be a great present.

At 3:30 am, I got up to test. I couldn't wait any longer. I paced back and forth and had a nervous conversation with myself. After about 20 seconds, I began to see a second line. It was not super dark, but it was there. Could it be?? Yes! It was!

I ran out of the bathroom and jumped onto Tom. "We have 2 lines!!!" I shreiked. He said,"Are you sure? you said you weren't going to test!" Then we hugged, I showed him the stick, I called my mom and sisters. Yes...at 3:45am and I don't know what I did or what I said. All I know is that I couldn't go back to sleep.

I went for blood work that morning and at 1:00pm that afternoon, I got the positive call! My beta was 74...it was really true! I was told to go back on Thursday just to make sure my #'s doubled and guess what ? THEY TRIPLED!!!

I am officially 5 weeks prego and beginning my 6th week.
    EDD is June 11, 2002.
My first ultrasound is Oct. 23 at 9:00am.
That's it! I can't believe it! It truly is a miracle!!
Oh yeah my bb's are really starting to hurt....youch!!!

    I m/c 07/01 and had my d&c 08/02/01.
I only bleed for 2 days afterward and then got my first period on 08/16/01.
Little to my surprise I went on vacation and started feeling icky and so
I took a pg test and it was very faint +++ so I decided to call my dr
and she told me to get in for an appt on 10/01/01.
I gave the test to my DH on our wedding anniversary that same day.
He was shocked. I went to my appt and low and behold I am 100% pregnant.
I could not have gotten through my rough times without this website and
I will never leave because I want to see all of the success stories after mine

Thank you all so much god bless and +++++++++thoughts to everyone TTC.
    Erica
