by: RV TTC #1 for 14 mths. EDD 4-8-02

I am 27, my dh 33. We have been ttc for over a year. I tried clomid for a couple of cycles with no success. My dh went to a urologist and was diagnosed with a large varicocele. His count was very high but his motility was low (33%) and his morphology was the worst at 0% - 2% normal under the Kruger scale. On 6/29 he had surgery to remove the veins (10!!) and I, in the meantime had an hsg and workup showing all normal except for slight pco.

We started seeing an RE and scheduled an iui for mid July since our insurance covered a few tries and the RE said my dh's surgery should not affect the sperm. I was put on 100 mg. clomid. I produced 2 eggs. My dh gave me a hcg shot (5,000 units) on 7/14, the same day my opk showed +. The next day, 7/15, my monitor showed peak fertility. We had iui that morning and the following morning. Then we bd a couple of times the following day, 7/17.

I immediately felt a heaviness in my belly and for a few days felt like something was going on in there. my bbs were also sore on and off. on 7/25, 10dpo, i got an extremely faint hpt. the next day, the same, on 7/27 the hpts started getting stronger and on 7/30, 15dpo the dr. confirmed my pregnancy with a beta of 235 and progesterone at 33.

The main pg symptoms started on 15dpo and they were slight queasiness, extreme fatigue (i took 2 naps a day), sore boobs on and off and high temps. My temps hovered 98.2- 98.5 after o and remained there. I was miserable for many months and prayed and prayed for God to bless me with a child and he answered my prayers. I think it is a miracle that the 1st IUI worked, given my dh's #s were so low.

If it could happen to us, it can happen to anyone. it is all about timing and having faith. Just trust that it will happen because it will.

I am now hoping to see a heartbeat at my u/s appt. on Aug. 13.

Good luck to you all and thanks so much for the support all these months.

The friends I made on the boards have been invaluable.

I finally got two pink lines!!!!!
    EDD March 12, 2001

Well ladies after 17 months of ttc we finally got it right after my first round of clomid 50mgs.

I was putting a ton of pressure on myself and dh so I did not temp this month. I took clomid on cd 5-9 and used the clearplan easy fertility monitor until cd 19.
At which point I had not gotten an peak fertility and was feeling this cycle was a bust. Being anovulatory I wasn't expecting my period, so its disapearance was nothing unusual.

At the beggining of July I got a horrible flu, fever and cold the whole thing. What was weird was that it took forever to get over. I was really tired and nauseous. A couple of days ago I had full on morning sickness it has continued ever since. I finally gained up the courage to take a test. And YIPPPEEEE!!!! I had two bright lines right away! Dh and I are estactic and shocked that it finally happened. I have no sore bbs, or frequent urination, but oh do I feel sick!

So to all you ladies out there, stay positive, don't pressure yourself too much, it will happen! BABY DUST TO ALL

Hi Momma Kath! Put me on the ticker!

Well, we did it! After TTC for about 14 mos, going thru clomid, provera, lap, and much poking & prodding. I'm actually pregnant!

I'm not sure how this all works with success stories & such, but here's how it finally happened...I have "classic" PCOS. Since Clomid didn't work for me, my RE tried me out on Follistim injections. First cycle was a bust, because my system freaked out a bit & I was a shoe-in for OHSS. After that bit of excitement, we tried another cycle of injectibles (lower dosages this time). By CD 11, I had two big follicles ready to go, 18 & 20, so Dr. gave me my Rx for hCG shot that evening. We DTD that night (Thursday), again on Saturday morning & once more for good measure (or really just for fun) on Sunday. We couldn't do IUI because of insurance & the Dr. was pretty sure it wasn't going to work without it (but I had faith that it would).

My Dr. didn't have me temping or anything--"Just go to the lab if no AF in 2 weeks..." By the 2nd week, I knew something was up. I was either pregnant or really sick (my digestive system was none too pleased either way). On June 1, I went to the lab & my test was ++++++! (hCG=83) A follow up test the next Friday gave hCG = 1010!

Now I'm 8wks+3days PG. We saw the heartbeat last week--really cool! I'm still in a state of unbelief & DH is beside himself. I was beginning to think it wasn't in the cards for us, but I'm really glad it was...

I got pregnant on the first try with my 3 y.o., and we used
egg white's as a lubricant. We read about it somewhere, and thought "why not"?

3 years later, we've been trying to get preg. again, and haven't been successful, after 3 tries. Guess what's the only thing we've done differently? NO EGG WHITES! I think we just thought that I was really fertile the first time, but sort of forgot about the "just for fun" egg whites.

We are going to use egg whites again!!

    Thanks for this site,
    W

I tested this morning, and it looks like my Matthew
is going to be a big brother!!
I just posted my news on the 40+ board.
    EDD is 3/17/02!
    I can't believe it!
