    "a gift from Heaven"
trying 6 months after 18 wk loss in January
    Sunday, 23 July 2000, at 2:00 p.m.
Ok, here are my success details,
if you want to call them that...
I have 3 living children and had no
trouble at all getting pg with any of them,
they are ages 9,4, and 18
months, and although they are spread
out in ages, when we did try to get
pg it worked. After baby #3 was
born I decided to get pg again right
away so they would be closer in age,
by this time I was inovulatory
which is not entirely unusual for me,
just never sought treatment in the
past and O would come when she
felt ready. Well this time I wanted
to do something about it so I asked my
OB for provera and then follow
with Clomid which she agreed to, at the
same time, I educated myself on FAM.
    I took 50mg Clomid and
that with the FAM got pg on the first
try. I carried that baby to 18 wks
gestation and then he was born from
    an incompetent cervix with placental
    abruption, he lived 10 minutes.
After he was born I desperatly
wanted to be pg again and about
2 months (March) after he was born
decided to try the Clomid again to
try and boost my chances for O
(i was NOT inovulatory then), well after
2 cycles of that and by then no
CM I decided to try a cycle on my own
which brings me to May, I noticed by then with my temping that
my LP was short and talked with OB who
assured me that it was probably just my cycle trying to straighten
itself out, and she was right, the LP
    gradually got longer and longer.
Jacob's due date was June 7, 2000 and
I decided that if I was not pg by then that I would not try during
that time so as to alleviate the stress,
so no trying that cycle. This brings me
to this cycle (July), I got Af on
June 12th and decided no temping this cycle,
just my Clearplan Fertility Monitor and knowledge of cm
and cp. I got my low days starting on cd12 of
this cycle and got my high days on cd15, got peak on cd 20
and bd every other day from cd 15 until cd23.
On cd 36 I decided to take
a HPT even though af was not
due for 3 more days at Midnight and lo and behold
it was positive, that was with a confirm HPT by the
way. Had a beta done on the 18th and it was 8.06
(see how low Confirm can pick up HCG levels), and
had another beta done on Wednesday and it was
49.47. Because of my history of incompetent cervix my
OB wants me to have a cerclage placed (stitch
around cervix) at 13 weeks and a repeat beta on Monday,
so that is the next step.. My symptoms first
before af was even due were
nausea, off and on and mostly in
the evening, tingly breasts, not sore, but
then again I have had 4 babies
so don't think that is likely
anymore. then this past week my symptoms
have been still tingly, nausea off and on,
    sleeping all of the
time, constant thirst, and ligament pains
that I only notice when I am pg.
    Hope this helps someone, oh
and by the way, I am the one who has the
monitor for sale on eBay, you can get
    quite a few there brand
new at a much cheaper price, and what
Ollie said is true about taking the
batteries out to "fake" out the
monitor, my batteries have been out
now for over 2 weeks, you don't use
it much again after O until the
next cycle. Thanks for all of your
help over these last few months,
I am saving a seat for all of you over on
    the alumni board.
    Love, Sabrena
mommy to Heather (9), Justin (4), Jonathan (18m),
Baby Jacob 1-7-00 (born 18 weeks),
and now pg with baby #5 (6 wks tomorrow)

    It really took a lot
of the guesswork out of when to
    "try" and when to say
    "Uh...i got a headache dear!"..;-)

    Hi there!

    Thank you Momma Kath!
    Well, it's official!
I found out today (via blood test)
that I am pregnant! Of course I knew from the
    4 hpt's I had taken already,
but I needed the medical confirmation to get
prenatal care. Praise the Lord Jesus for
    His wonderful blessing to us!
Let me share my story with you.
My husband and I got married 7 months ago
    (I'm 24, he's 31). At first
(foolishly) we thought we should wait to
try to have children. That way I could teach just one
more year, and we could pay off bills , etc., etc.
However, the Lord truly convicted us that we should
try to have children, and to be faithful to that
command to "be fruitful and multiply." So, 3 months
ago, we started trying. The first two month,
I was so dissappointed when my period came. I thought
that I would get pregnant on the first try for sure!
But, now I realize that the Lord wanted me to wait upon
Him and trust in His timing. I salute all of you ladies
who are trying to conceive. If that is the desire
of your heart, He has put it there for a special reason.
Trust in the Lord Jesus for your salvation, and
for all the other godly desires you have.
Well, I started BBTing this month,
and was a bit disheartened when my temps didn't go up at
    day 12, 13, 14, 15, or 16. I totally thought I would
have ovulated by then. Just when I was thinking this
cycle was a bust, my temps did start to rise (very slowly)
from 97. 7 all the way to 98.6. It actually took it 6 days
to rise. On cd18, I woke up with extreme breast pain.
I thought, this is too early to be PMS! On cd 20,
I was a bottomless pit of hunger, and my breasts still hurt.
On CD 23, I started having nausea at odd times of the day.
On cd 26, I tested with an ept and saw a very faint line.
On cd28, I tested with another ept and an Answer and saw a
more defined line. That day I went down to the hospital to
have a urine test, but it came back negative! I was shocked!
Maybe I drank too much water beforehand? Well, today, on cd31,
I went in for a qualitative hcg blood test, and YAY it was positive.
So, don't give up, put your trust in the Lord, seek first His kingdom
and all other things shall be added unto you. Amen. :-)

    Here are the temps:

      Hello Again!

I typed up my other email so fast,
I realized I left out some important info that
might help you other ladies. So here goes...
these are the things I did to try to conceive
(besides pray and trust in God for His mercy :-)
      1. I took my BBT every morning at the same time.
      2. I took Robitussin to thin out my CM.
It really worked. By the way,
my CM remained creamy well after O,
      so that was another sign.
      3. I drank tea!
      4. I took Dong Quai (only until I O'ed).
      5. I started taking vitamin E, Folic Acid,
      and B-complex daily in sizeable
      but practical amounts.
      6. After BDing, I put a pillow under
my stomach (laid on my stomach because I have
a tilted uterus) for at least 40 minutes.

Well, my PG symptoms included strange
cramping (particularily on my left side),
nausea, hunger pangs at odd times, fatigue,
gas, burping, and mega breast pain!

Thanks for all the info on this website,
and for the other success stories!
      May all those who are
"with child" be protected by Him and
be given a safe and healthy delivery.
      And... may all those who
wish to be "with child" be given the
desires of their heart very soon!
