Hello Everyone,
I'm not a regular on the board, but I just
need to be able to tell someone about our good news. Next
weekend we'll start telling family and friends,
but it's so hard waiting!! I know how much I enjoyed reading
other people details, so here's mine. We started
ttc as soon as we got married (7/20/96). We assumed it
would happen right away. Finally, after much
heartbreak and disappointment we decided to give up. I
had seen two doctors in this time and found out
that I ovulated, had clear tubes and dh had adequate
motile sperm. However, since dh had several orthepedic
surgeries suring this time, the timing was just not
right. In January 2000 we started talking about adopting
a special needs child since it's free (at least in
Minnesota). In May we went to an orientation and decided
to give one last chance at IUI for the summer.
If it didn't work, we'd proceed with adoption. I had to
start taking progesterone to start my period as I was
having an anov. cycle. AF came on 6/13. I took 100mg.
Clomid cd3-7. CD14 showed a follicle ready to
release and had a shot of Profasi. IUI was scheduled
for the next day. I started taking my temps and when
they stayed up higher than usual I was pretty sure I
was pregnant. My HCG on cd29 was 74 and went up
to 274 3 days later. I'm also taking 200mg of Progesterone
twice/day. My Progesterone went from 15
down to 12. I'm a little nervous about this, bu so far my
temps are staying up. The symptoms I've been
having are: cramps that go away quickly, feeling tired,
going to the bathroom more, dizziness and
swollen breasts. My EDD is 3/19/2001. The first ultrasound
is 8/2. Both of us are so exited and thrilled! I
had honestly given up and was prepared in my heart to love
another person's child who needed a family.
God's timing is truly amazing. One thing I have learned
through this experience is what a MIRACLE life
is. I don't know if people who conceived easily can truly
understand and appreciate just how miraculous
the whole thing is. I hope all of you out there will
eventually be able to share your success stories! I never
thought I would be able to, but miracles happen everyday!!!
