Hey everyone,
I've been a "silent partner" for a while, this being my first post. I basically don't have a cycle unless it's induced. I told my doctor yesterday that my husband and I are TTC. She prescribed me prometrium for 10 days to start my cycle, but instead of putting me on something like metformin, she's putting me on birth control "yasmin" for 4-6 months. She then tells me to try TTC immediately after I stop the yasmin and if I have no luck in the first few months then the metformin and/or clomid will come in to play. Will being on bc for 6 months be counter-productive? I was told that I have PCOS, although no tests were done, just a doctor's hunch I guess. If I told her I'm TTC, why not start the metformin right after the prometrium? If the BC isn't going to cause a problem after the 6 months, I guess I can use that time to lose weight and get my body ready for the TTC process?! What do you think?
Thanks!
