family friends who are having children out of wedlock. It's funny because I lived with my boyfriend (who is now my husband) before we were married and I remember it was scandalous to my parents. It lasted all of 6 months and then were were engaged for 9 months, then married. They didn't want ANYONE to know because I was "living in sin." Meanwhile most of their friends now have grandchildren conceived out of wedlock and constantly dealing with lawyers, custody issues, etc. My mom and I look back and laugh and how silly it was that they kept my "situation" a secret. Seems so trivial now.
