spotting

Hello Ladies, This is my second pregnancy and I am experinecing spotting! I have been for the last week, I am 13w 3d. I did not have this problem with my son(2years) and my dr seems to think everything is ok. I have had 2 u/s within a week and the baby , placenta, etc.. all look good. Why am I still worrying?
My spotting is brown and is only when I wipe. It is quite frustrating as I am one of those analytical people and think that everything happens for a reason, so what is the reason for the spotting?
Any advice / encouragement you can offer would be appreciated!
