I never thought that I would be posting on this site. I have been reading clomid success stories for the past several months while TTC. I was inspired and hopeful because of the stories I read on this site. That is why I would like to share my success story.
I got pregnant on my very first cycle of Clomid 50 mg tabs!! I had only been TTC for about 6 months. My doctor concluded that I was not ovulating based on my lab tests and diagnosed me with PCOS. I do not fit the typical picture of someone with PCOS, but I have always had irregular periods. My periods were always light and infrequent, usually 3 per year. Before I used clomid we tried on our own using OPK tests. I had a few positives, but never got pregnant. My doctor gave me clomid, but I was extremely hesitant to take it. I didn't fill the prescription for several weeks. Then after several more BFNs I decided to give it a try. I took clomid 50 mg on days 4-8 of my cycle. I had a transvaginal ultrasound on cycle day 13. The doctor told me I had a large follicle. However I didn't get a positive OPK until cycle day 19. We were having sex every day and sometimes twice a day. Three days after I ovulated we had sex and immediately after I had intense abdominal pain. I was in Mexico on vacation, so I didn't go to t
he doctor. It lasted about 3-4 days then gradually went away. I think I must have had an ovarian cyst that ruptured during sex. I had read that clomid can cause you to develop multiple cysts. I was frustrated, and I was convinced that I couldn't be pregnant because of the cyst. I was nervous about taking clomid again. I took multiple pregnancy tests starting 8 DPO, all negative. Until 12 DPO, I saw a faint line!! Since then I have taken 8 tests, all positive. I still can't believe it is really true. Clomid definitely worked for me on the first try. I am due in November 2010. Now I just have to wait for my first ultrasound to see if I am having one or two babies!

I read a lot of negative stories about Clomid in my search for
information before going on the drug, but am so glad I decided to give
it a try! After TTC for over a year, I only took Clomid for 1 cycle.
The pregnancy test came back positive yesterday!!! Never had any side
effects. Clomid worked for me like a charm! Good luck to all the
couples out there trying.

Hi there! I wanted to submit my story, because it was so important for me to find other women's success stories while I was taking Clomid. 5 years ago I had ovarian cancer, and while I was extremly blessed to have been diagnosed at Stage 1A, it did require the removal of one ovary and fallopian tube, and my doctors told me I had pretty much 0 chance of having children. I was crushed! I was only 20 and wanted children more then anything else in the world. My husband and I were already trying at the time I found out I had ovarian cancer, but because of my PCOS we were having a very difficult time even before the cancer. After my surgery, no doctor would put me on fertility drugs because of the increase in the risk of reoccuring ovarian cancer. We went to specialist after specialist, but I was completely anovulatory, and it looked like the only option for us was IVF, which we couldn't afford. Finally, I found a doctor who was willing to work with me as long as I was monitored completely from day 1. He started m
e on 100mg of Clomid and continued my metformin treatment (i had been on 1500mg of metformin for over a year as part of my insulin resistance from the PCOS) 3 weeks into the first month, I was complaining to my husband of the dizziness, hotflashes and nausea that I assumed were from the clomid. My emotions were running rampant, I was having strange adversions to food and even stranger cravings (Can we say pickles, black olives and ice cream?) My husband convinced me to take a HPT but it was negative. He still was absolutely convinced I was pregnant and finally we got the confirm from the doctor that we are almost 4 weeks pregnant! I am so overjoyed I can barely stand it. Thank you for publishing these success stories- after so many disapointments and trying for so long, it almost seems unreal the first time you see that positive test. Other success stories have kept me going! It makes me believe this is really happening! Praise God, for through Him all things are possible!

Momma Kath, I have been forgetting to update you on the progress. I am now 13 weeks pregnant with twins and down great. All thanks to your website I was able to read the
success stories on clomid and it changed my mind to give the 4th cycle a shot. I was very hesitant at first because some doctors say that if it doesn't work in the first 3cycles that your chances are pretty slim of it working. I am happy I came across your website to find that many women have had it work way past the 3 cycles. Now here I am pregnant with twins a year and half after we started trying! I am now anxious to see if we are able to find out what we are having. Thanks for having a great website where I was able to find "true" information that helped me to know that there are many women out there just like me.
Thank you!
Rebecca

My name is Rachelle and my husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for about 2.5 years. We had tried to conceive naturally for a long time, but finally sought a doctors opinion.
I was put on Clomid 50mg for the first time this cycle. We confirmed ovulation around CD16, so that part was really exciting.
But, as the month went along I just didnt feel pregnant. I thought we'd failed yet again.
I was late for my period by 5 days, but since Ive had some long cycles in the past year, I thought nothing of it. Finally, on Thanksgiving day, a friend of mine talked me into testing, and it was positive!!!
So, the Clomid worked the first time round, and I had no side effects whatsoever. Its a wonderful medication, and because of it, we are finally expecting our first child!

Hello, after ttc for 18 months. I'm pregnant. I took 8 tests just because it didn't seem possible.
I was started on
Clomid 50mg and it worked!!
I just wanted to share as before I went on the clomid all I heard was horro stories about it. Never anything good. People were telling me I would be psycho and depressed and many other horrible things. I was started on the clomid because my Progesterone was low and I had a variation of PCOS. Not one weird symptom with the clomid!!! I kept waiting for bad side effects and nothing. I'm due in October and my husband and I are thrilled. We are also in the process of appling for adoption and are going to continue as we would be thrilled to adopt as well. Thanks for the info on your site and pray for us and I will continue to pray for everybody ttc.
Thanks.

Hi,
I couldn't believe it, my tests reads positive and,
This is my very first time, and dosage of using clomid and this is our first baby.
I heard about clomid on the internet and
decided to go for it even though I ovulate regularly,
it wasn't easy the first two days, i felt very weak and sore breasts,
also I had a little low vision and couldn't drive but gradually after the last pill was taken,
i felt better and could do my normal work. I had it from day 5-9
I was beginning to think again oh God I will have to do it all over again
when I discovered I miss my period, I was having same sympton
as if I was going to have my period but lo and behold it didn't come,
just this morning I woke my husband and decided to have him read the results
as I closed my eyes and I heard him scream YES YES YES, thank you Lord,
I opened my eyes and he said Honey congratulation.
God heard and answered our prayers,
without His love and Mercy this won't have happen.
I LOVE YOU LORD.

Thank God for this awesome site!
Momma Kath,
2 years ago my DH and I began serious treatment for "unexplained infertility."
We were poked and prodded in every way imaginable.
After all was said and done it was determined that he was the one with the problem.
Needless to say this upset him greatly.
He never let on until the very end, but that is just the way with my dear hubby.
The problem was motility and morphology.
He went through 4 different SA's and Trial Washes to absolutely confirm
that those symptoms were the cause of our infertility.
When he was comfortable with the idea of an IUI we tried in January of 2003.
Our doctor at the time (a so-called fertility specialist)
started me on Clomid one month prior to the IUI.
2 weeks before the IUI it was found that my progesterone level was below normal,
so she started me on progesterone suppositories once a day.
It was my pharmacist that brought to my attention that
taking a hormone like progesterone only once a day
is not beneficial to someone trying to maintain a certain level.
In other words, I was supposed to be taking it twice a day to
keep my progesterone level up so I could conceive.
And the doctor knew it!! We went through with the IUI hoping for a success.
It failed and the doctor told us that she wanted to go right to IVF.
Matt and I were leery about this quick jump,
not to mention the amount of money needed to go through with it.
We waited two cycles while I was gathering information about Clomid
and how it is best used to achieve a pregnancy.
I went to her with my new concerns and questions and her response was
"When you have an M.D. after your name you can question my expertise."
I was floored. I walked out of the office and never returned.
A month later I finally got up the courage to call the insurance company and request a peer review.
That's when a patient's records are reviewed and other doctors check to see if a diagnosis
and following treatment that the doctor prescribed met with the normal protocol to treat the problem.
It was found that when she started me on the Clomid and the progesterone
she did it with the intention of a failed IUI and an immediate rush to IVF to satisfy some inside quota.
To make a long story short, she was found negligent in 12 of her other cases over the last year alone.
Her license was removed and she was deported back to India.
After I recieved the report from the insurance company and the check for all the monies I paid out
I felt lost and hopeless. I was afraid to go to another "specialist" for fear of being "taken for a ride"
again and wasting another 2 years or more. It was Matt that convinced me to try just going to an
OB/GYN and start over from the very beginning. I made the appointment and was pleasantly
surprised to find that my new doc truly had my hopes and dreams as his top priority.
"Let's get you pregnant." This was July 2003
Dr. Heimberger started me on the Clomid and explained that the only reason
I was on was to produce the very best follicle possible.
Then when he was satisfied with that he would begin giving me the shot to induce ovulation
and Matt and I would baby dance. For the next three months I had textbook perfect periods.
In other words I started on time, ovulated on day 14 or 15 and kept a very normal luteal phase.
I was not monitored during that time because my doc was waiting for my records from the other doctor's office.
Well, because of circumstances beyond everyone's control my records
did not arrive until October so he didn't want to follow up until he saw the records
to see if he was going in the right direction.
In October I went online to find some kind of support and found your wonderful site.
Your advice and other's caring and kindness helped me through a very difficult time.
After finding out about the records I demanded them and started monitoring with my doc.
I went in for my first u/s and he saw 2 follicles on CD 15.
I got the shot and two weeks later I am pregnant with my first child due in July of 2004.
I'm still shaking.
To all of those that read this, believe that there is always hope.
Don't stop following your dreams because there is a roadblock.
Figure out another way or find someone who can. It took us 4 years
and when we finally had support and someone who actually made us a top priority
it was just a matter of time. Have faith in the Father and always look for the door that opens
when the one in front of you closes.

Success!!!!
My husband and I decided to start trying 12 months ago but right away knew there was a problem as I stopped getting my period and had no BBT shifts. We were lucky enough to receive treatment immediately and started 50mg
CLOMID in October. First round I ovulated but no pregnancy. Next round
didn't work. We upped the dosage to 100mg and did 4 more rounds - 2 with
ovulation occurring and two were unsuccessful. We were referred to a
fertility clinic on May 3 for the next steps (HCG shots). My appointment is
for July 6. Well lo and behold I got a period on May 25 (Day 50 since my
last cycle). Although the doctor had told me not to bother taking the last
round of Clomid, we did anyway, and didn't really think too much about it,
as we had this fertility appointment.
So....you can imagine my surprise when I had 18 days of high BBT and started
waking up at 4am to pee! I'm 6 weeks along and we are so excited. I can't
believe it worked. Good luck to all of you trying Clomid and never stop
believing in it!

My Story
my name is lesley and for 4 years I was trying to get pregnant, I had joined a chat room a year ago, can't remember which site it was on and then my pc broke down, I was discussing with other women, how i had just started clomid and my first month was unsuccesful. In the chat room there were women that had been succesful and it was really nice to hear the different stories, it gave me ecouragement to go on. Anyway, just after my pc broke down, I fell pregnant and 4 months ago I gave birth to a
beautiful baby boy, Jack.
I have just got a new pc and just had to find a site, so that I can encourage women to keep going as clomid worked for me.
Thanks
Lesley

I'm so grateful!
I just wanted to e mail you and let you know that I finally got pregnant!!
I am now 16 weeks and feeling good!!
Due date is January 8, 2005.
My doc put me on clomid.
I was at my wits end with all of this thinking that I will never have a baby of my own.
But, I prayed and had faith in our Savior Jesus Christ that all would be well.
We concieved on the first round of clomid at 50mg!!
I could not believe it when I got a postive result!!
I thought the test was defective!
After spending 30 dollars on 2 more tests and finally getting the blood test, I was convinced.
I really did not even temp nor have "scheduled sex"!!
My best advice to anyone struggling with infertility is to have faith.
It will happen!! Thank you to Momma Kath and all on the chat site
for helping me through my worst times!!
Thanx again

BFP!!!!!!!
I got 3 BFP's today from two different brand tests!!! I am 3 days late and couldn't hold out to test any longer. I was so extremely nervous that my heart was pounding when I was testing. This was my 3rd RD of clomid, this time at 150 mg and my P4 was 17!!!
Things I did different this month:
First of all, I used OPK's for the first time and NEVER got a positive (I used them from CD11 to CD22) I saw a temp jump on CD20 so after a couple of high temp days I stopped using the OPK's. I was using the dollar tree brand, which were only $1 each, so I'm not saying they don't work, but they didn't for me. When my P4 came back 17 and my temps stayed high, I knew I had O'd so I just didn't worry about all the negative OPK's! Now I'm sure I O'd b/c I am PG!!!
Second, I took a baby aspirin along with my prenatals.
Third, (and I think this did the most good for us), we only BD every other night from CD13 to CD21. This was a lot less stressful than every night. I am they type that likes to cover all bases so it was hard sometimes to wait and somtimes I felt like by skipping a day we would screw something up, but it apparently worked.
I LOVE CLOMID!!!!!!!
I have my first appt. on Aug 16 so I'll keep everyone informed. I used an online calculator to calculate my due date and its April 11, 2005!
Three days ago when i was suppose to start AF, I had "AF like" cramps and sore boobs and backache (all symptoms of AF for me) and I cried and cried b/c I knew AF was there but she never showed!!! Since then I have felt a little more quesy in the morning but nothing too bad.
Have a great day and say little prayers that everything is okay with baby!

My clomid success story
My husband and I had tried to conceive for about a year when
I started considering ferilty meds with my obgyn.
I took my first dose in August 2000. I had my first child the following May.
large healthy 9.4 boy. He is now three and I am starting my second round of
clomid to try and conceive another child.
Hopefully I will be as successful with this round as I was with the first!

clomid success...BE PATIENT GIRLS
After trying to get pregnant for a year my Dr. put me on clomid.
The first 2 rounds nothing happened. We gave up for a month,
and then when I went back to the DR.s found out I was pregnant,
but unfortunately had a blighted ovum.
After having a D&C we tried clomid again and again without success,
I got my period. I was so disappointed we gave up.
The next month just for fun I took a pregnancy test and it was ++++!
My son will be one year old this September!!!
The moral of this story is that even if the round of clomid results
in getting your periodit can work late.
It happened to me twice after we stopped taking it.
So dont give up hope ladies.
It sometimes works after the fact!!!!

Oh my god you guys! I'm shaking here ... This has to be quick since I have to get ready for work but had to post.
On CD 32 and still no AF.
Sore Boobs since CD 23 and still sore boobs this morning. This is the longest cycle on clomid. 1st time was 29 days, 2nd was 31, 3rd 28.
When I didn't get my AF this morning on CD 32 and my boobs were still killing me and for the past 3 days I've felt a little sick to my stomach I thought you know what I'm going to test to be sure.
The line is faint but it wasn't my 1st urine this morning (I pee about 4 times from the moment I wake up).
I'm so nervous!!
Slight Twinges and Cramps on and off since CD 21.
This is the 1st month I had EWCM on CD 14. I took the most EP I ever have - 2600mg a day with 3 teaspoons of robi 3x a day and plenty of water.
We Bd'd CD 9, 12, 14, 15 & 15. I don't chart cuz I never sleep long eneough so I don't know when I owed.
My DH started using Yohimbe and it made him very hard and ready to go with stronger orgasms.
I have a 1st appointment with my RE on October 5th I can't believe I won't need to go (fingers crossed this is a healthy pregnancy).
BABY DUST TO ALL!!
Thanks to everyone who has helped me this site is great.
