I'm currently on my 2nd round of chlomid, 50 mg. First round, I had the night sweats, day sweats, and sweats as if i just jogged 2 miles. I also had 2 bad headaches while taking chlomid.
Now I'm on round 2, it's my 4th day on chlomid, and surprisingly,
I have seen several side effects with clomid from headaches, ovulation pains, and cramps. I also noticed after 4 dpo I have been very tired, sore bb's, nauseated, and have had white cream which now at 8 dpo it is more of a watery liquid . I was prescribed the medicine at 50 mg then increased to 100 mg. I really didn't have too many side effect on the 5 days when taking the pill but alot the days following. Since my cycles were very long and irregular I have no idea when I should test. Last time I was on clomid I had a 37 cd's but while not on clomid I have from 45-49 cd's. I have been on Clomid for six months. I started at 50 mg, and only last month my dose was increased to 100mg. I am 37, and have been trying to conceive for a year. At 50 mg. I had mild hot flashes, mild headaches and nausea and blurry vision that lasted about a week around ovulation (although I never ovulated). With my last 100mg. dose (and IUI) I am finding the side effect debilitating. It is now day 26 of my cycle and I am still sufferring from bad headaches, nausea and blurry vision that is not relieved by asprin. The hot flashes (intense) quit on about day 17, as did the mood swings. I am wondering how long this drug stays in the body and when I can expect some relief? If you are thinking that I might be pregnant, I thought so too but the ptk says no. Although I have heard that many people tolerate the drug well, I have found that I don't, and plan to never take it again. I am going to take a month or two off from trying, hopefully feel better physically, and move on to IVF. Thanks, Nancy I have read many comments regarding the side effects of Clomid and I have to say, I have been lucky enough not to suffer like so many of you. Quite the reverse in fact! far from feeling depressed and moody, I am feeling really positive and happy despite moving house, getting divorced, starting a new job and trying for a baby!!!. This is only my second attempt with clomid but I really believe it will work this time. My advice to others, don't give up, think positive thoughts and keep trying. Best of luck to you all I am 42 and am on my first cycle with clomid. I have been ttc for 13 months and have had 2 pregnancies that ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks. I have been cycling every 28 days since my late teens, but my ob wanted me to try clomid to increase my chances. I usually have ovulation pain every month, but this month it was on both sides and more intense. Also, lots of bloating. Today is cd21 and I feel pregnant. Ive had 5 clinical pregnancies and always feel the urinary urge along with abdominal cramping. I go in 2 days for a progesterone test. The doctor said shed do a blood hcg test if I thought I might be pregnant. My big worry is that today Im catching a cold and starting to run a slight fever. Im taking Tylenol to keep it under 100F, but Im concerned about miscarriage. Ive been there before, and dont care to go back. I do have 2 wonderful daughters, ages 7 and 3. Both were conceived with no problem. I am 42 and am on my first cycle with clomid. I have been ttc for 13 months and have had 2 pregnancies that ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks. Both were conceived with no problem. When our son, who was conceived naturally, was about 2, DH and I started trying again without success. Follicle studies showed my O was "poor quality" --follicles not large enough. We set a plan to try 3 months of Clomid 50 mg. The first month I had 2 "ripe" follicles and we were advised to have intercourse for 3 nights. The next month, I had one ripe follicle, same advice. The third month, no follicle study was performed and I did not conceive, yet again. DH has had his obligatory sperm test, which turned out fine. I also have now had an HSG, which was also OK. So now we're back to trying Clomid...100 mg...starting next week. The only side effects I had were somewhat severe abdominal pains around the time of O. I freaked, because I read something about Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), but my doctor didn't seem concerned when I called to ask, and he was right. That's it...no hot flashes... no emotional swings... (other than the normal trying-to-conceive emotional roller coaster). May God bless us all with the desires of our hearts! P.S. Any side effects or other tests we may go through are NOTHING compared to childbirth, which is the ultimate goal of us all! How ironic! Hi just found this website. I am 22 years old have been married for 2 years and ttc for 1 year. I went to my doctor to see if he could tell me everything was ok. Found out that I don't ovulate. So he put me on 50 mg of clomid my first month. After that cycle didn't have a period for a full 2 months so when I finally started he gave me 100 mg. I think it has worked. I am only a couple of days late as of right now which isn't out of the ordinary for me but I have all of the symptoms of pregnancy. However on Clomid the only side effect I had were headaches and I usually have them anyway they were just there a little more than usual! I wish all of you luck and lots of baby dust. I will let you know if we have a positive on our test. Amy I TOOK CLOMID FOR ONLY TWO CYCLES AND I BECAME PG. UNFORTUNATLEY LOST MY BABY AT 10 WEEKS, TWO WEEKS AGO. MY SIDE EFFECTS WERE FEELING DOWN AND WORRIED AND I CAME OUT IN A HORRIFIC RASH AROUND BY BIKINI AREAR AND ANAL AREA THEN IT DISAPEARED WHEN I WAS AROUND SIX WEEKS PG. WILL PROB START WHEN I GET MY NEXT PERIOD. Just letting you all know that you are not on your own. I've had irregular periods for a long time. I had constant spotting up to the age of 17 when I finally found the right pill for me to stop this but 18 months ago stopped the pill and started trying for baby number 1. Never thought it would be this big a nightmare. After lots of tests and small operations to remove endo I have finally been put onto clomid. My cycles after stopping the pill were around 30 days but have gradually gotten worse up to 48 days most cycles. Clomid hasnt worked so far no ovulation. I have been put on to 75mg and im like a walking monster angry one minute teary and depressed the next . I think its not going to happen for us at all while im taking these plls ,... I just finished my first round of taking clomid. My doctor has started me on 50mg taken cd 5-9. I've had some very minor hot flashes, except for last night! I was so hot I had to rip off the bed covers and open a window even though we were having a storm! I thought it was just me! But reading other clomid side effect comments has made me realize it's not me. I haven't had any mood changes (my husband is thankful for that) and today I feel fine. I hope this cycle is lucky for us! Jill I am 28 years old and have been trying to get pregnant now for 15 months. I had my first child in 1997 with no problems at all. I am now on my second month of clomid. The first month on was on 50mg and my doc had me start from day 5-9. I was really emotional and just started crying for no reason. I did O but did not become pregnant. Now I am on day 11 and am still spotting for some reason. I call the doc back Monday to see what is going on. I have also had some cramping the last few days. Hope everything is ok. Good luck to you all!! Melissa Hi Momma Kath, i have ttc since 2001. been on Clomid too but no good news yet!! my very best friend recommended me a chinese dr who specialise in infertility. my hb & i had a talk with her, we are glad that she's very well-knowledge,friendly & jovial. she ease our worries of visiting a so-called infertility clinic. (she has a few couples who had either twins or triplets after visiting her!! do u remember that's my dream of having a triplets too!!! once's & for all!!!) haha...=P she told us the side effect of clomid which made both of us very worry. we trust her as she used to practice western medicine too. she told us: example, there are suppose to hv 500,000 eggs in our ovaries. clomid is suppose to induce ovulation which in turn "force" the ovary to release eggs. if we are pregnant, we are lucky but if we are not & we continue on clomid. our ovary will keep on releasing eggs till it drop to zero eggs left. women's eggs are not like men's sperm which they are able to keep on growing!!! we will go into an early menopause stage instead. this chinese dr had a patient with long time infertility problem & was put on clomid. when she visited this chinese doctor, the dr immediately told her that she can't help her anymore as she has all the symptoms of a menopause stage. this patient then realise that she has zero eggs left. i think this is sad!!! i hope you are able to annouce to all those ttc ladies, they are only able to take clomid for a certain period of time but not for a long period. i am now on this chinese doctor's prescription which need to take a long time to brew. i can only describe these chinese herbs as "god-damn bitter". i take a candy after i drink them!! very bitter indeed. anyway, i do not mind if this herbs really works!!! i really hope to inform you of my good news soon!!! Thanks/ ... Caroline I just wanted to thank you for your website. I am presently taking 100mg clomid and never really investigated the side effects. Meanwhile, I've been experiencing frequent bad headaches and have been very emotional, moody and depressed. I now feel that much of this is due to the clomid! I thought I was "hormonal" but didn't really connect it to the clomid until I read other people's experiences on your site! Thank you... Kelley p.s. We meet with an infertility specialist today! Keep your fingers crossed. Well I have never had infertility problems til now. I have two beautiful daughter conceive naturally, no drugs or anything. Now I'm ttc #3 and have had some issues with my body! It doesn't seem to want to cooperate! :o) Well this month I was started on 50mg of Clomid taken on cd #5 and I'm on cd#6 now. Doc says I shouldn't have problem.. He says I know you can get pregnant, you did it on your own twice, you just need a boost this time. I sure hope it works cause my dh is thinking about checking me into the nut house! First I was snippy yesterday and by nightfall I was bawling like a baby for no darn reason whatsoever. I'm not looking forward to those hot flashes but will take it in stride. That is our story. Good luck to everyone. I hope this works for us this time. :o) Kasey My theory: "It is ok to talk to yourself, ask yourself questions and to even answer your own questions... But when you have to ask yourself What did I say? That is when you have a problem. Hello, got pg on 2nd course of clomid and m/c at 10 weeks now five weeks later my dr gave me permission to start on the clomid again (on day 4) feel fine no side effects as yet. Hoping that everything wiill be ok with me trying again so soon, but i have lots of faith and hope. Lots of Love Lisa I am a first time user of Clomid. Today is my last dose. I was feeling fine the first two days but the last few days I have been moody, tired, and sad. I haven't gotten any hot flashes yet, but from what I have read I am sure I will on this website I am sure I will. I had surgery to have my tubes opened in Jan, but haven't gotten pregnant yet. My doctor is trying Clomid along with Pregnyl and artificial insemination this month to see if it helps. I hope the Clomid works so I won't have to take the invitro route. Good luck to us all!!
