    I finished my first round of Clomid a week ago this past Sunday.
    I still have not ovulated and just wanted to see if this is common.
    I have a terrible headache today and yesterday had some cramping,
    but the Clear Plan Easy still only had one blue line this morning.
    Do some people ovulate later than Day 14? I am just wandering if
    I still my ovulate or if I am just not going to this month.
    I took 50mg this time and it was not bad at all. I had one day of mild hot flashes and that was it!

    Your site has been really helpful to me ....
    it is nice to have a place to go when your not quite ready
    to talk with family and friends yet.
    Thanks!!

    I've seen lots of comments about side effects of taking Clomid and thought it might be useful to share my experiences. This is my second cycle of Clomid (50mg) and like other users I was given dire warnings about blurred vision, etc. and was warned against driving at night in case I got dazzled by oncoming headlights!

    The only things I have noticed are hot flushes nearly every midday and hardly any CM. I thought I had escaped the mood swings but burst into tears in front of my boss which was hugely embarassing as I'm not the crying sort at all. There goes any chance of promotion this year.

    Also, I have a strange taste in my mouth the whole time (kind of metallic). I heard you can get this if you are pg but I'm definitely not so it's kind of weird. Anyone else noticed this?

    I'm so pleased I found this great website and will recommend to my doctor that he mentions it to all his Clomid patients. It's such a great help to know other people feel the same way and to read the success stories.
    Hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I am 38 years old, and have been trying to carry a child to term for over 2 years. I have been pregnant 4 times (miscarried 3 times, and was diagnosed with a downs fetus, and I terminated the pregnancy). For the last 7 months, my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant. My doctor prescribed Clomid, even though I appear to be ovulating normally. He didn't do any follow up, or warn me of side effects.
    Right away, I got a terrible cold sore, with swollen glands and an eventual fever. I looked on the Internet, and also found out that women with fibroids should be careful, since the drug can stimulate growth.
    I'm angry that my doctor so readily prescribed the drug without thinking through whether it was appropriate for me. I'm not taking the drug any more after this.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I've only taken Clomid one month...50 mg days 3-7. I became hyper and very talkative (similar to taking a day time cold medicine).

    There were also a few times when I would find myself staring in to space and would feel like I was in another world.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm on my 4th round of clomid (50mg). I did get pregnant on 50mg this past summer but lost the pregnancy in Oct. Started clomid again in December...I've had the usual hot-flashes, and breast tenderness, but haven't really had any of the mood swings or depression. I have however been having blurry vision and a general feeling of pressure in my eyes for several months. I went to the eye Dr the last two saturdays, having different tests and exams...the first one showing very elevated pressure in my eyes-- the next week it was down a bit - but still elevated. I was starting to worry about glaucoma-- but they said that my eyes look very healthy- and that it might be caused because my eyes are dry. This is when I started wondering if it was the clomid-- as it's been drying everything else out!
    The only thing I did differently this past week, was to take robetussin- to help with my lack of mucus-- and it did help. But I haven't read much from anyone else about clomid affecting their ey! es, I'm not sure if it was the robetussin that also helped with the pressure in my eyes coming down this week. Not that I want anyone else to have these symptoms-- but it'd be alot more reasuring to hear that anyone else does!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi all! I've been sitting here reading all of your experiences with Clomid so I thought I would share mine as well. I'm 29 years old and dh & I have been ttc for 2 1/2 yrs. About 8 months ago I found out that I have PCOS. I'm taking 1700mg Glucophage daily and have been on 50mg Clomid for 4 cycles now, cd 5-9.

    The first two cycles I thought I was doing fine until I started watching a kinda sad movie one afternoon and could not stop crying. Every little thing sets me off. Luckily for dh I don't yell or ever really lose my temper so I'm able to keep it in check. I had mild hot flashes but nothing too bad so far.

    Cycle three everything changed. I had cramps almost all month long. Hot flashes during the mid-afternoon. My breasts were so tender that they woke me up at night if I rolled over. I called my doctors office to find out if this was normal and they just said not to worry about it. When my period finally came, 10 days late, I had the worst period I've ever had in my life. My flow was so heavy that I was afraid to leave the house. Luckily I had previously asked for those days off from work (but unfortunately had to cancel all other plans).

    Now I'm on my 4th cycle. I've had headaches for the last week and mild nausea and cramping. I use ovulation tests every day. This cycle I've had TWO days with very dark lines on the tests so I'm not sure what that means. I go see my doctor next week and she said that if I'm not pg she will increase the Clomid. I really want to have a baby but I'm just not sure I want all these side effects to get worse. I think so far I've been lucky compared to some of the stories from others, but this is completely taking over. I'm also very nervous that my doctor has not been monitoring me close enough.

    I see her about every 2 months and when I do go see her it's just for like 15 minutes with no blood tests or ultrasounds or any monitoring at all. I'm considering looking for another doctor, but she is very knowledgeable regarding the PCOS, so I'm not sure I want to risk it. I feel so comfortable with her and for me that is very rare. Thank you for listening. And good luck to you all!

    Please keep us in your prayers!
