Send me those comments.....it's good therapy! Momma Kath After telling relatives I was on injectables, they felt the need to warn me of the risks of multiples (like I don't know already!). My MIL actually said, "You don't want to end up with 7 babies like the couple in Iowa". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Doesn't everyone have that "friend" or "relative" who spent thousands of $$'s on fertility treatments with no success and as soon as they gave up and stopped trying, they were PG? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My DH has been diagnosed with a low SA and a varicocele. A friend recommended that I not tell him we are ttc and then I'd get PG. Like if I catch those sperm off guard, they'll be at their peak!?!? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is very popular with my mother, sister and friends: "Maybe you just need to gain some weight and quit exercising so much" I'm a healthy weight, although naturally on the low end, and exercise a healthy amount. I've tried to convince them that since my RE is not concerned, they shouldn't be either. Plus, when I conceived my DS on the first try, I was thinner and exercising more. The comments haven't stopped and it's going on 14 months! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Oh I just don't understand why you are going to see a RE. You just need to relax." This after I had just said that I was not ovulating at all -
Thanks!
It really bothers me when God gets the blame for fertility problems. I'm ttc and going nuts about it watching my BBT and EVERY little sign that could mean fertility or pregnancy only to have that awful disappointment each month when the "visitor" rears its ugly head. Still, it sickens me w/ the thought of THE GOD somehow causing all the troubles. SHAME ON YOU! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I know what you mean when you say
stop obsessing so much. look at sil, she just got pg after 3.5 years, you have not been trying as long as her. and from dear old mom "when and if god feels the time is right, you will get pregnant. I was pregnant seven times, but never on birth control because god has his plans for everyone." thanks mom, so try at the appropriate times because if it was gods plans i would get pregnant at any time of the month? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi , my husdand and i have been trying to concieve for 9 months. But this story did not happen to me . My friends wife had cancer and she had to have a hysterectimy. They cant have children of there own.I was working at a farm stand and there were alot of kids running around screaming carrying on, what normal children do. And a man came over to my friend and said "You should be glad you dont have kids look what we have to deal with." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Just go on a holiday and it'll happen! " These are the most annoying words i have heard on my ttc journey! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think that it is ironic how everyone knows someone who has tried longer than you and gotten pregnant. (Example) I was trying for 6 months and a person would say... "I know someone who tried for a year and got pregnant!" I was trying for 12 months and a person would say... " I know someone who tried for two years and got pregnant!" I have been trying for two years and now all of a sudden that same person would say... "I know someone who tried for 5 years and just now got pregnant!"
So my question is to this person "am I the problem or are YOU the
problem!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been ttc for over 2 years and have had 2 miscarriages. You have to just love the comment made to me by some family members "joking around". Why don't you have sex w/the dog, he seems to want it all the time, he'd get you pregnant. Thanks....like that was one of the options I was considering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, there's always the famous "You're tryng too hard.
Although there are MANY things people say that have annoyed I would have to say a few of the worst ones were..... "You guys sure you're doing it right?... you could borrow my husband." You mean it doesn't go in my ***? Jerks! I have miscarried three times and one tubel. I HATE HATE HATE when people say, "Well at least you know you could get pregnant." If I can't hold the pregnancy, what difference does it make if I could get pregnant?!?!?!? But most of all it bothers me when people who have been trying for less then a year and are pregnant now tell me they know how I am feeling. Try for about 3 and half more years and have a few miscarriages and THEN tell me you know how I am feeling!!! I know people mean well, but THINK before you share your comments!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here's the annoying comment of the century:
How about when your MIL always says to you-- "When are you going to make me a grandmother?" Because you know it is all about her--- UUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Im newly 19 years old and I have PCOS.
Thanks! I needed to vent!
>From a woman also ttc
"Well you have one child so
bless their hearts - continue to tell me how they "are not getting any younger" ...keep in mind they have 6 grandchildren (most recent birth - September 2000)... I can't blame them though... they have no idea we've been ttc since April of 1999. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If I get told to "Just relax, it'll happen" one more time I think I'll choke the person... GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! Mrs.LisaW ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I really HATE this one....
How about the "wonderful" comment
Gotta love this one. From my younger sister who has two children while not married, living on welfare with the father of the kids who works off the books. Why don't you adopt, you already have one DD (12), glad it's not hereditary I got pg the first time we tried. Not to mention everyone asking "are you pg yet?" Everytime I see them. And from my father, well you have everything else - you are doing better then your brother and sisters. Thanks for letting me vent!!!!!!! Tina
